Documentary and journalistic photography has always been a powerful tool for telling the world’s stories.
However, too often today, many recognitions are awarded without giving due importance to visual merit or the content of the stories, overshadowing what truly matters:

Frame Press Photo Awards was created to bring photography back to the center of everything. Every image will be judged anonymously because the power of a photograph lies in its ability to move, inform, and provoke thought.
If you believe that photography should stand on its own, that your work should be judged solely on its merit—without filters, bias, or external influences—and if you seek a community that values authenticity, quality, and the power of visual storytelling, then you are exactly where you belong.
We firmly believe in the importance of inclusivity, but we believe it should not be reflected in the awarding of prizes, but rather in real opportunities for education and employment. Access to photography should be open to everyone, but recognition must be based on photographic merit and the significance of the stories being told.
